Meeting Notes

December 2015

Posted by on December 9, 2015 at 10:35 AM

Thank you making our December 3rd meeting another wild success, and a special thank you to all of our presenters and sponsors who made it all possible! The meeting was hosted by ITT Technical Institute in Wilmington, in partnership with John Galt staffing.

Justin Burton, Senior Product Portfolio Manager at SolidWorks, presented a medley of fascinating new SolidWorks products, including SolidWorks 2016, SolidWorks Industrial Designer, and SolidWorks Visualize, which will be available in January.

Tom Cote, BANSWUG Vice President and owner of Applied CAD Solutions, gave attendees an early preview of his SolidWorks World 2016 hands-on presentation on Equations, Linked Dimensions and Global Variables. Download Tom's presentation materials below:

Breakout Session

Meanwhile, a few lucky BANSWUG members attended the SolidWorks Product Definition breakout session, where SolidWorks PDs Hari Padmanabhan and Mike Newell hosted discussions and hands-on Alpha testing of new SolidWorks features. These attendees experimented with enhancement to SolidWorks FEA analysis, and the Treehouse app, and the feedback they provided will help SolidWorks refine these products. If you're interested in shaping the future of SolidWorks, don’t forget to sign up for a breakout session for a future BANSWUG meeting.

Meeting Wrap-up

At the end of the meeting, the BANSWUG committee raffled off dozens of prizes, generously provided by our sponsors (see below). In addition to the trunkful of branded swag, courtesy of SolidWorks HQ, we also gave away nearly $200 in gift cards from our sponsors!

Remember, if you'd like to host a BANSWUG meeting at your facility, or give a presentation during one of our meetings, please contact us!

SolidWorks is looking for some brief testimonials from customers who use mySolidWorks Professional, to be shown during the general session at SolidWorks World 2016. If you've made use of the cloud storage, manufacturer database, or hundreds of hours of online training (including certification prep courses), contact Andreas Kulik to share your thoughts.
