Thank you making our February 23rd meeting another great success, and a special thank you to all of our presenters and sponsors who made it all possible! The meeting was hosted by Medica Corp in Bedford. Special thanks to Sean Duffy and the entire Medica crew for making this space available to us.
Before the meeting, we gave a brief overview of the highlights of SolidWorks World 2016. We reviewed several new product announcements, the Top Ten List, and a sneak peek of what's coming in SolidWorks 2017. You can view and download those slides https://www.dropbox.com/s/qnmk4caz3770cto/Feb23%20Intro%20Slides.pptx?dl=0" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">here.
Dave Bazinet of CaddEdge fame presented a jam-packed hour on the new features of SolidWorks 2016, including the new thread creation wizard, circular sweep profile, and lots of drawing enhancements.
Jim Shaw, a BANSWUG member and Managing Director of Fastway Engineering, compared static and modal FEA simulation modes, including live analysis demonstrations. A great presentation for anyone interested in advanced simulation.
Meanwhile, several BANSWUG members attended the SolidWorks Product Definition breakout session, where the SolidWorks User Experience team discussed the many changes to the SolidWorks 2016 UI, and solicited feedback from users. Annie Cheung also gave us a preview of the future of eDrawings. If you're interested in shaping the future of SolidWorks, don’t forget to sign up for a breakout session for a future BANSWUG meeting.
